OpenBSD 4.9 Released

he new version of OpenBSD 4.9 has been released not at the traditional day as we used to 1st May but after 2 days.
Today the Open source operating system development team OpenBSD announced new release OpenBSD 4.9, this new version support the latest 64-bit processors. One of the main innovations of version 4.9 is enhanced support for multiprocessor systems and SMP-kernel version now supports up to 64 cores.
OpenBSD 4.9 provides NTFS by default in read mode only on GENERIC kernels, enable vmt driver by default for VMWare tools and for encryption added support for AES-NI instructions found in recent Intel processors.
The release includes the GNOME 2.32.1, KDE 3.5.10 and Xfce 4.8.0 desktop environments. New and updated packages include Thunderbird 3.1.7, Firefox 3.5.16 and 3.6.13, OpenOffice.org 3.3.0rc9 and LibreOffice 3.3.0.4, as well as Python 2.4.6, 2.5.4 and 2.6.
